A Firefighting Family's Dream
De Soto Fire Chief Kevin Ritter loved to enjoy a stick with fellow firefighters after a hard day or night of service. He dreamed of opening a cigar lounge where he could re-create the camaraderie and relaxation he felt during these moments.
Sara, Kevin's wife and an EMT with the department, along with their firefighting-son Dylan, shared Kevin's dream. Their family motto--from the movie Backdraft--is, "You go, we go."
Therefore, the Ritters decided that when Kevin retired they would all work together as a team to make it happen.
From Dream to Reality
Kevin soon retired from the fire department, and the Ritters began turning the dream into reality. They found the perfect place to open a cigar shop and worked tirelessly to create a warm and inviting firehouse-themed atmosphere. Ritter Cigar Company opened in March 2019.
